AWSVG static var generator, a high-tech product that has many breakthroughs from conventional reactive compensation ideas, is widely utilized for reactive power compensation of electrical systems.
AWSVG adopts semi-conductor power electronic device to build rectification and inverter circuit. Continuous, dynamic and two-way reactive regulation may be realized for inductance and capacitance. Power factor is improved in a flexible and dynamic manner. Voltage fluctuation is restrained, resonance is avoided and unbalance reactive power is compensated by split-phase. Therefore, losses are reduced and energy is saved in a manner much better than conventional equipment.
AWSVG has better performances in terms of response speed, stable grid voltage, lower system losses, increased transmission capability, higher transient voltage limit, less harmonic and floor space.

Operation principles

AWSVG detects real time load current by external current transformer (CT); reactive component and harmonic of load current is extracted by internal DSP calculation; then PWM signal is sent to internal IGBT; and inverter is controlled based on configuration to generate reactive current and high order harmonic current for reactive compensation and treatment of harmonic.
